The Museum of Natural History in Morro Bay will once again feature, their excellent "Monday Morning Mindwalk" series of nature-related lectures (Jan. - March) - these events usually fill up, so you must come early to get a seat http://www.morrobaymuseum.org/mindwalks.htm You can support the related non-profit "Central Coast Natural History Association" by becoming a member at http://ccnha.org/membership.htm - this will get you the "Nature Notes" newsletter in the mail every month.

Google launches a new Research Tool at http://scholar.google.com/ which is especially useful for scientific and educational inquiries

The law now gives you the right to free access (once yearly from each of three agencies) of your credit reports from Esperian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Note, for security reasons will need to type or paste www.AnnualCreditReport.com into your browser address bar. It is recommended that you spread out your requests for free reports over one year. Reports are now available for residents of California.
